Andrea Mitchell

Andrea Mitchell is a Washington D.C.-based American TV journalist, anchor and anchor and. Mitchell graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a diploma of English literature. Mitchell was hired by KYW Radio and TV as a Philadelphia reporter in the year 1967. 1996, she was hired by WDVM-TV Washington DC, a CBS-affiliated station (then WTOP). She became a Washington general reporter to NBC News two years later. In 1980, she began covering the White House. 1988 became the chief congressional journalist. She was made the Chief White House Correspondent and in 1994 chief foreign affairs reporter at NBC News. Mitchell was a panelist on the TV show Meet the Press and also was the host for the program. Mitchell participated on a panel during the debate in 1988 between George Bush & Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married to Alan Greenspan former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell received the Goldsmith Career Award in 2005 by the John F. Kennedy School of Government to honor her achievements in journalism. In 2004, in 2004, the Radio-Television News Directors Association gave Mitchell the Leonard Zeidenberg Award in recognition for her work in protecting First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell was the first reporter to write about White House stories for NBC News during the presidency of Ronald Reagan as president from 1981-1988. Mitchell covered a number of noteworthy news stories throughout the years, such as the tax reforms, budget reforms, and The Iran Contra scandal. She travelled frequently together with Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev to world summits.
